Memory Verse: 1 Thessalonains 2:13
by ERICHOLTER on JANUARY 10, 2012
This week we are beginning our first Wednesday night Bible study. Our first topic, which we will probably continue for the first few sessions, is the nature of the Bible itself. In order to understand what the Bible is we need to be able to grasp how letters and books written by men can also be the very words of God (the doctrine of the inspiration of Scripture, 2 Tim. 3:16). This week’s memory verse is one example of how words spoken by men can at the same time known as the very word of God.
(And don’t forget, the prize for reciting the memory verse on Sunday is now a Christian book of your choice. I’m not saying this will necessarily be offered this week, but you never know…)
1 Thessalonains 2:13 “And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”
